DPM representative and local Christians are already helping cyclone victims in Myanmar
Two weeks after the devastation of Yangon and other parts of the delta in Myanmar (Burma) Pastor Jacob, our DPM representative, reports:

Last week I have been visiting our Christian brothers and non-Christian families in the affected areas. Our initial step is to help meet the immediate needs for food, clothing, medicine, water, Bible and gospel tracts as well as books that will comfort the suffering.

We are doing our best to help with whatever amount of money we have with us - which is nothing compared to the needs we see around us. But we are happy to serve in whatever way we can.

And the second step is to help with the rebuilding of houses and churches. So far we have met with 238 families in the city of Yangon and noticed that 47 houses were badly effected. And the rest need only minor repairs.

In the town of Phyarpone one house was totally destroyed and 182 families lost the roofs of their houses. One of the two churches in the town was destroyed also. And in the town of Kyitelatt there were 26 families who lost their homes.

All the people we have met have great needs, not just for daily supplies but also for rebuilding their homes and shattered lives. There are many more needs as we go into worse affected areas.

As the need is so great so please continue to pray for the victims and their families. Pray for us also as we would like to serve the affected families as the Lord provides relief funds.

We tell each person we meet that God loves them and cares for them. This is our great opportunity to minister the love of God through His Word and our actions.

Please pray for the Lord's intervention to prevent the devastated people from perishing from dehydration, starvation, and diseases. And please give generously to help them if you can.

The Lord Bless You!

Pastor Jacob, Yangon, Myanmar
