Cairns - Report by Bill Page
“Greetings from Living Light Cairns.
God is moving powerfully in the Far North of Australia! Our Ministries are growing, especially the Outreach Ministries to the Indigenous communities. There are many open doors for the Gospel, and we are thrilled to see people receiving Jesus Christ, and then going on to be baptised and discipled as they learn to walk with the Lord.
Our Pastors Stephen and Rachel Marci are ministering weekly in the Indigenous Old Peoples’ Home, the Homeless Shelter, the Hospital, and anywhere else where the people need a touch from the Lord who loves them. The Outreach Ministry in the Indigenous settlements has grown, and we are seeing many young people receiving Christ. Our Outreach Team prepare well, and present an interesting and colourful program for the kids in each place. They do face painting, balloons, clown presentations, music and dance, as well as ministering the Gospel in a way that children can easily understand.
Several months ago we began a Children’s Outreach on a densely populated and disadvantaged area of the city, where the population is almost entirely Indigenous or Pacific Islander. We go there every Sunday afternoon, and many children attend, attracted by the games and activities, then they receive a Gospel presentation. This has now developed into a night Service in the Community Centre there, where even more people are receiving the Gospel.
Our Church Services on Sundays are growing, and we are thrilled to see the fruits of the labours of Pastor Stephen and Rachel and the rest of our team, as people from the Hospital, Homeless Shelter, as well as other disadvantaged ones, are being welcomed and loved, and are receiving Christ. We give food parcels and toiletry packs to the ones from the Homeless Shelter, and these are greatly appreciated!
We have recently taken our people through Derek Prince’s “Self Study Bible Course” on Wednesday nights, which was a great blessing. Thank you for helping us to reach the people with the very valuable resources of Derek Prince.
